A04 Payroll Officer

• Paying between $60.05-$65.81ph + super
• Brisbane CBD location with hybrid working flexibility
• Temp contract opportunity until 30/06/27 with possible extensions.

About the Role

Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an A04 Payroll Officer to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 30/06/27 with possible extensions.

Candidates for this role must have:

• Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience

• Previous government experience

• Strong payroll system proficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Payroll Processing & Advisory: Deliver accurate, timely, and specialist payroll processing while providing expert advice and information to the organization.
• Team Leadership & Resource Allocation: Supervise payroll staff, monitor performance, and strategically allocate work and resources to ensure operational efficiency.
• Service Delivery & Internal Controls: Maintain best-practice payroll services by enforcing strict internal controls and ensuring compliance.
• Process Optimization & Innovation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement payroll business improvements.
• Stakeholder Communication & Support: Provide responsive, effective communication and support to employees, senior management, customers, and external partners.

About You

You will be an experienced Payroll professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience
• Previous government experience
• Strong payroll system proficiency.
